The eight man ambushed by the British Army SAS at Loughgall in County Armagh must not be forgoting or ignored in the current drive to normalise british rule throughout Ireland, a spokesman for Real Sinn Féin said today.
Joe Lynch from Ballinacurra Weston in Limerick, the editor of the Real SF paper Saoirse Nua said that the aspiration to a new and united Ireland is now under severe threat from former Republicans who have sold out and surrendered to the British for less than we wood have accepted
In fact the volunteers who died at Loughgall have been denied by a group of self-described republicans led by Ruairi O’Bradaigh and Des Dalton who have disbanded cumann named after the men who were murdered by the british Crown.
This type of narrow self centred behaviour has led to splits in the Republican Movement but the duty of all true republicans is to honour the memory of all those who have died in the on-going struggle for Irish freedom.
There cannot be a cut-off point after which deaths of volunteers are no longer remembered or recognised. May 8th marks 26 years since the ambush at Loughgall where the eight men were killed in a deliberate operation by the British toweaken the IRA resistance campaign+ we in real sinn feín as true Republicans will never forget the sacrifice they made and their memory will forever be honoured by all those who adhere to the principles of Irish republicanism.
